Mr. Mosley leads both the Corporate and Entertainment, Media & Technology practice groups at Mosley & Associates where he participates in a broad-based corporate, entertainment, intellectual property, sports, media/arts, hospitality and litigation practice.  He handles trademark, copyright, licensing and general corporate matters as well as representing talent, producers, production companies and labels in film, music, television and fashion projects.  He also negotiates marketing, endorsement and other campaigns for his varied sports and entertainment clients. As a litigator, Mr. Mosley primarily focuses on labor/employment matters and music disputes. As a watchdog, he provides transparent checks and balances for his entertainment clients, monitoring music roylaities and accounting as well as the actions and deals of the sports agents, managers, business managers, accountants and agencies.  To that end, he has brought cases against music distributors, major and independent labels, business managers and large bookkeeping firms for claims such as breach of contract, failure to pay royalties, fraud, mismanagement of funds and breaches of fiduciary duty for his entertainment clients.  His firm specializes in Labor & Employment, Corporate Transactions, Entertainment & Hospitality and Real Estate.

 

A committed lawyer to public service, Mr. Mosley is most proud of his ongoing representation of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy – the Los Angeles-based nonprofit that changes the lives of young people through the performing arts.  Mr. Mosley has represented the Academy on numerous transactional, real estate, labor, intellectual property, endorsement, entertainment and litigation matters.  Before pursuing an entertainment and media law practice, he spent four years as a corporate lawyer in the Los Angeles and New York offices of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

Mr. Mosley holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, Computer Engineering, and a Masters of Science in Information, Economics and Management with a specialization in Incentive Centered Designed.  As an engineer, Mr. Mosley worked for Intel Corporation as a chip designer and software engineer. He has specialized skill sets in economics, marketing, system and product design and cognitive behavioral science.  Mr. Mosley has presented papers at the African Development Conference and the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development.  He still works as a consultant and business advisor throughout South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria working with companies such as Vodafone, Etisalat and What Box.  Mr. Mosley also worked for Procter & Gamble in sales and marketing.  

A graduate of Harvard Law School and a recipient of both the Dean’s Award (selected by Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan) and the Traphagen Distinguished Alumni Award, Mr. Mosley clerked for Judge Damon J. Keith on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is a member of the state bars of California and New York as well as the Federal Tax Court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. 

In addition to being the named partner of Mosley & Associates, Mr. Mosley also has a successful hospitality and restaurant business — New Gold Empire West, where he has built the brands Beetle House (NYC, LA & Vegas), Karnevil Hollywood, Blockbuster 90s Bar, Darkside Hollywood, Holiday Animals & the Electric Pussycat (Austin Powers themed bar).

Nathalie Meza Contreras

Attorney Nathalie Meza Contreras has demonstrated her unrelenting commitment to championing the rights of workers over the past sixteen years. Nathalie has worked as a union representative advocating for workers and as an advocate for victims of police brutality and immigrant rights. Today, she proudly continues her commitment and passion for worker rights leading up the Labor & Employment department Mosley & Associates.

Nathalie graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a BA in Latin American Studies and double minors in Political Science and Labor and Workplace Studies. She then attended Southwestern Law School where she received her Juris Doctor. While at Southwestern, Nathalie served as president of the Labor and Employment Law Association. While in law school, Nathalie’s various distinguished awards include awards from the MLB Players Association and Southwestern’s Wolverton Public Service Award. Nathalie is bilingual and a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section, the National Lawyers Guild’s Workers’ Rights Committee, and the California Employment Lawyers Association.
